Aranda Snow Gums - Toddler Trails
- Glenloch Interchange, Molonglo Valley, ACT 2617
Join us in exploring the Aranda Snow Gums Nature Reserve. The snow gums below Aranda Bushland are a natural heritage site. They are some of the last survivors of what used to be a continuous ring of snow gums encircling the frosty, treeless flats of the Molonglo River, so they are important both historically and ecologically. This is an out-and-back walk of 1km. Meeting Point This meeting point is a little tricky so we highly recommend that you look at Google Maps before getting in the car. We’re meeting at Aranda Snow Gums Car Park. GPS point is 35°16'43.1"S 149°05'04.3"E The car park is located on Glenloch Interchange and can be entered via either Caswell Drive (Western side - driving South to North) or William Hovell Drive (Northern side - driving West to East). Map tinyurl.com/6p6bemjt Toddler Trails have been created with your increasingly independent child in mind. As kids find their feet, many prefer to be out of the baby carrier and would rather push their pram than ride in it. Toddler Trails allows your child the freedom to explore on their own two legs, while you get some outdoor and social time with other parents/carers. Walks are generally between up to 1km but sometimes we walk up to 1.5km. We travel at a toddler friendly pace allowing plenty of time for exploring the natural environment and play, and the all important snack stop. MAXIMUM NUMBERS: Sessions are limited so please book through the MEGA app. WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable clothes and enclosed footwear for walking and active play. Bring a hat, sunscreen, water and healthy snacks. FITNESS LEVEL: This event is suitable for parents/carers of all fitness levels. Mums, we recommend you obtain your 6 week clearance from your medical practitioner prior to walking. BABIES & CHILDREN: This event is suitable for parents/carers who are baby wearing or have children who are walking. Some sessions are pram-accessible too, please check session information. Toddler Trails sessions aim to help parents/carers and their children be active together. COVID GUIDELINES: Physical distancing is required. Do not attend: if you or your children are unwell, or anyone in your household is awaiting the results of a COVID test.
