Stranger Pond, Bonython - Toddler Trail

  • Stranger Pond, Bonython ACT

Service Description

Stranger Pond, Bonython - 1.2km out and back Stranger Pond is one of two artificial lakes created by the construction of a dam in 1989 across a natural drainage channel in Bonython. The ponds were built as sediment traps to improve the quality of the water flowing into the Murrumbidgee River. Native wildlife, such as pelicans, swans, kangaroos, and wombats, can be found in and around Stranger Pond. It’s a great location for spotting waterbirds and exploring on a mix of dirt track and path. Toddler Trails have been created with your increasingly independent child in mind. As kids find their feet, many prefer to be out of the baby carrier and would rather push their pram than ride in it. Toddler Trails allows your child the freedom to explore on their own two legs, while you get some outdoor and social time with other parents/carers.
